AB Mankind has always used language as a means of enacting the powers offered by it to attractbeneficial forces as well as to react against malignant ones. As such, language acts throughthe principle of opposition. This work analyses the most recurrent linguistic devices foundin metaphor, oaths and swearing, conjuration and exorcism.
