AB The medieval concept of barbarus was the result of the direct influence of ancient authors.During the XIIIth, XIVth and XVth centuries some hispanic writers thought about this concept.This work is a study of its different intellectual interpretations as historical, geographical,anthropological, religious and philological criterion.
