RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Translating Cultural Intertextuality in Children's Literature A1 Pascua Febles, Isabel K1 intertextualidad cultural K1 literatura infantil K1 multiculturalismo K1 traducción intercultural K1 referencias culturales AB In the present work based on the concept of “cultural intertextualty” (Pascua, Adaptación),I will concentrate on the translation of some cultural markers which are signs of identity ofa particular culture. After a brief summary on the different tendencies on translating forchildren during the last decades, I will show some examples from different stories. On theone hand, from tales deeply rooted in the British culture such as Alice in Wonderland, andon the other hand from other tales from part of the multicultural landscape of Canadianchildren’s literature, where the multicultural aspect is particularly what gives the Canadianidentity. Finally, I will present a new social project: translating multicultural children’s lit-erature for a new multicultural society. PB Universidad de La Laguna.
