A1 Álvarez Expósito, Andrea K1 fobia específica K1 actividad cerebral K1 fMRI K1 ansiedad subjetiva AB Specific phobias are one of the most prevalent psychological disorders. This type ofdisorder is characterized by excessive and irrational fear, as well as resistance oravoidance responses to exposure to a specific phobic stimulus. In recent decades, studiesof specific phobias have been growing, specifically a greater understanding of thedisorder at both the behavioral and brain levels. Therefore, the present study is in chargeof measuring the correspondence between the brain activity data of phobic participantsaffected by the feared stimulus (real image and virtual reality) and the frequencies insubjective measures of anxiety. The higher the level of brain activation, the greater theprobability of anxiety. However, the results indicate that the higher the levels of brainactivity, the lower are the measures on the subjective measures and vice versa. Finally, the lack of support for the proposed hypothesis is discussed.
