AB The objective of this study was to carry out a bibliographic review about theinfluence of religion and spirituality in coping with grief. The results of the search throughthe selected databases indicate that, in general, religion and spirituality are positivelyrelated to adjustment to loss. Traumatic or unexpected death turned out to be a potentialfactor hindering the use of religious / spiritual coping strategies, resulting in worseadjustment outcomes.
