AB This work aims to test the psychometric properties of an adaptation into Spanish ofthe Balanced Inventory of Desirable Responses (BIDR). Thus, two studies were carried out. Aquasi-experimental one, in which 146 volunteers participated, and another correlational, withthese volunteers and two other samples of 154 volunteers and 2177 candidates in severalselection processes. In total, the sample consisted of 2477 participants. In the first study,volunteers were asked to answer to the scale in two ways, honestly and “looking good”. Thesecond study compared the scores of the experimental group in the “looking good” conditionwith the other two groups, volunteers and candidates. Results are consistent with previousresearch and demonstrate the effectiveness of the scale and its ability to detect those candidateswho try to distort their image in processes.
