Organizations focus on the satisfaction of their workers asinternal customers within the key processes of the quality system. The main objective of thiswork is to determine the job satisfaction´s level of emergency nurses of the Hospital Complexof the Canary Islands. A retrospective quantitative study was carried out, applying a stratifiedsampling by age, sex and seniority. The data analysis was done by the SPSS statisticalprogram. After analyzing the questionnaire anwers, it has been obtained that the surveyedshowed global dissatisfaction with their work environment, being dependent on age andseniority, according to Pearson's coefficient (∝ = 0.05), the older for age and seniorityindicate more dissatisfaction. The variables with the worst evaluation are stress, rhythm andworkload, spatial distribution and recognition by the institution. While the best valued areautonomy in performance, satisfaction derived from the work itself, quality obtained in theproduction of work, relationship with colleagues, teamwork and relationship with supervision.Therefore, we understand satisfaction as a dynamic process with common features amongthe individuals in the sample, which are of sufficient importance in terms of satisfaction, tosupport the implementation of the proposed improvement plan. Improvement actions are partof management processes, in order to improve job satisfaction and the quality of care.
