AB This paper deals with the development of European drama during the Middle Ages, after asupposed extinction that cannot be completely asserted due to the lack of data. The rebirthof drama inside the church is well attested by manuscripts containing fragments to berepresented and also by the chronicles. From the inside of the church drama moves outagglutinated with religious processions. Growing importance and acceptance will grantdrama some independence and, though still presenting religious topics, it will find spacefor everyday life and its comic side. Finally, drama will make of the street its space bysymbiosis with its surroundings and urban achitecture, which became its main scenery.
