RT info:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesis T1 Identificación y revisión bibliográfica del antecesor de Eumetazoa: "Trichoplax adhaerens" A1 Camacho Espino, Daniel Matías K1 Trichoplax adhaerens, Canarias. AB The phylum placozoa is a group of primitive animals with greatevolutionary and pharmacological interest. It is represented by a few genus, when Trichoplax and its representative species T. adhaerens are most studied. In this work, the knowledge of this species has been bibliographically reviewed, both from an evolutionary point of view and relative to its pharmacologicalinterest.Experimentally, protocols have been developed for the isolation of thespecies in the most predictable coastal habitat for this species in the CanaryIslands and for the physical identification of the specimens obtained. The results obtained indicate, on the one hand, the lack of study on thisrecently discovered species, as well as the potential importance of Trichoplaxsp. in studies involving an ancestral animal model for the study of drugs.Including the search for biochemical targets and response mechanisms differentfrom those described in more evolutionarily recent models.Candidate specimens have been isolated in shallow waters of Tenerifeand optimal isolation conditions for this species have been established.
