It also exhibits many similarities withthe permanent manifestation of this influx, even though thescant planning and weak response initially implemented in aneffort to comprehensively manage this migration has placedthe phenomenon at the forefront of the current affairs anddebate in the region. As a result, a social context of enormousuncertainty due to the health and economic crisis, the directand almost real-time knowledge of the outcome of manycrossings thanks to social media, together with the confusionsown by how this mobility is being managed, all raise theneed to reconsider its analysis in order to ascertain its currentcharacteristics and keys to its understanding.
