AB This work addresses the scenario of people with disabilities andanalyzes the new paradigm of the group, making a brief historical overviewof the concept of disability to compare it with the conception that has arisenas a result of the elaboration of the Convention on the Rights of Women.People with disabilities. We will observe the influence that the Conventionhas had on our legal system, in addition to analyzing the future reform of theCivil Code and what it would imply in the collective. This whole process hasgenerated a new legal context regarding disability in Spain, with which wewill also pay special attention to it.Finally, we will apply this transition to the labor framework,examining the development of people with disabilities in the labor market,seeing the differences that exist within the group based on the differentcircumstances that affect each person in particular. In addition, we will makea small comparison with people without disabilities, in order to highlight thesocial and economic barriers that people with disabilities have to face.
