RT info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis T1 Applications of Covalent Organic Frameworks in sample preparation A1 Jiménez Skrzypek, Gabriel A2 Máster Universitario en Química AB Sample preparation is one of the most important steps in any analytical procedure, asit is a time-consuming and critical stage where analyte losses can occur. For this reason, separation techniques have undergone a continuous evolution to achieve greater recoveriesand versatility and, at the same time, to reduce the amount of sample and volume of solventrequired.Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are an emerging type of porous crystallinepolymers with an extremely high porosity and surface area as well as good thermal stability. These properties have attracted the interest of many areas, opening new pathways ofresearch and exposing numerous advantageous applications. In the particular case of theAnalytical Chemistry field, COFs have found an important application in sample preparation(e.g. solid-phase extraction in its different operational modes -conventional, dispersive,magnetic-, solid-phase microextraction, stir-bar sorptive extraction, etc.) since their inherentproperties clearly match, in a good number of cases, with the ideal characteristics of anyextraction or clean-up sorbent. This review pretends to provide a global overview of theapplication of COFs in this field, highlighting the most new and relevant applications.
