AB This research work deals with the protection granted by the Spanish legalsystem to minors as victims of criminal process. An issue that acquiresspecial significance with the recent approval in Parliament of the OrganicLaw 8/2021, 8 of June, for the Comprehensive Protection of Children andAdolescents against Violence. And the fact is that the minor, given hiscondition of vulnerability, requires special treatment by public institutions,and especially, by the jurisdictional bodies and therefore, an exhaustiveanalysis will be carried out on the measures that can be adopted at the sametime. throughout the same in order to determine if these are sufficient toalleviate, as far as possible, the effects produced by secondary victimizationas well as the possibility that their statement is made only in theinvestigation stage. Without forgetting, finally, the role that the PublicProsecutor plays as a guarantor of their rights and the interest of the minor asas a fundamental value in any process involving these.
