AB The specialties with which the legislation is found within the special system of domesticemployees, It makes it difficult to carry out regulations that regulate it, which is whydomestic workers find themselves within the regulations, lack of regulation and excludedfrom it, thus leading to job insecurity and invisibility. In this work, the current regulationwill be analyzed and the importance of ratification of Convention 189 of the InternationalLabor Organization will be assessed. In view of these peculiarities, it is necessary toanalyze the historical journey of the concept of domestic work, the legislative changes thatit has undergone over the years until reaching RD 1620/2011 and with the knowledge ofthem, make an assessment of the importance of the ratification of Convention 189 of theInternational Labor Organization, this being a fundamental pillar that contributes to themenjoying decent work, under equal conditions where their rights and basic principles arerespected
