AB Regulation (EU) No. 650/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of July 4,2012, regarding jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and execution of resolutions, andacceptance and execution of public documents in the matter of inheritance mortis cause andthe creation of a European certificate of inheritance, introduces the figure of the Europeancertificate of succession of great relevance in the field of mortis causa and cross-borderinheritance.This work studies the European certificate of succession, and the problems that have arisenin its practical application over the years.
