AB In this paper we are going to present a topical issue such as the arrival of irregularimmigrants to Spain, especially the Canary Islands. People who do not have validdocuments to enter or stay legally in our country and who are therefore subjected todifferent treatment from that which would be offered to a regular immigrant; we shallsee how this is clearly reflected in the rights conferred on them. In addition, we willinvestigate important aspects such as migration control related to the current model ofmigration policy, which is considered to be a policy that superimposes the interests ofthe receiving countries on those of the persons received; and the means that have beencreated to respond to the need to solve this migratory situation, including the centresthat have been set up to carry out detention, stay in the country and the assistance ofthese undocumented.
