RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Theorizing masculinities for a new generation A1 Anderson, Eric K1 Masculinidad AB Foregrounding research among 16-21 year-old heterosexual male youth, this article providesan overview of the changing nature of masculinities in Anglo-American cultures. I suggestthat cultural homophobia is rapidly decreasing among young men in these cultures, andthat this has a profound impact on their gendered performances. I suggest that hegemonicmasculinity theory is incapable of explaining these changes. Thus I introduce inclusivemasculinity theory—and its principal heuristic concept, homohysteria—to make sense ofthe changing nature of young men’s masculinities. PB Universidad de La Laguna.
