There is a great variety of species, but the most relevantare: tropical and grey pilot whale, bottlenose dolphin, humpback whale,common dolphin, killer whale and all the diferent tipes of beaked whales.The sighting and cetacean protection’s legal regime is vast, since european,national and autonomic rules are applied. All of them agree in the importanceof conserving biodiversity and generating the least possible impact on thisanimals’ life. With the previous legislation it was required an authorizationto carry out this activity, but since the transposition of the Directive2006/123/CE it is only needed the presentation of a prior communication.Finally and regarding sanction regime, according to the seriousness of theinfraction, they are classified as very severe, severe and mild, it will be finedwith amounts between 100 and 2.000.000 of euros.
