AB This article is intended to be an introduction to the African human rightssystem, at the top of which is found the African Charter of Human Rights,the first document where civil, social, political, economic and peoples'rights are jointly regulated, as well as duties and other formal aspects. Inaddition, throughout the work, the different mechanisms responsible for theprotection and promotion of the Charter are made known, we are talkingabout the African Commission and the African Court of Human Rights.However, to arrive at this unique document, it is necessary to previouslymake an analysis of the events that took place in Africa, beginning withcolonization, until reaching decolonization and the Pan-Africanism. Sincethe peculiarities and particularities that characterize this system can only beexplained based on all these political, legal and social antecedents thatoccurred in the continent.
