AB The following project pretends to analyze the influence of the Canary IslandsEconomy and Fiscal Regime (REF) on the Territorials Haciendas of the islands, focusingon the most relevant fiscal aspects (more, specifically, taxes), the legislation and methodsof distribution of those resources derived from this regime in the Cabildos and Town Hallsof the different islands, and, specifically, on the island of Lanzarote.That regime, which has special characteristics, as a result of the insularity and thegeographical distant from the European continente of the islands, and their own economicsituation due to the existence of a series of unconnected taxes and a shortage of naturalresources in the sixteenth century. It has been suffering some regulatory modificationsover the years, such as the creation of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC) in 2000.
