AB Habit, vegetative and reproductive development have beenexamined in plants of Thuretella schousboei (Thuret) Schmitz from theCanary Islands. Previously unknown variations in habit and number andarrangement of procarps in the cortical filaments are described. Gametophytesgrow mainly in spring on sublittoral substrata often subject to abrasion duringstorn periods during the winter
