Plants of Corallinaceae were collected and fixed inmediately in 4 % formalin-seawater. After morphologycal study, selectedparts of the fixed material were decalcified in Pereny's solution or 0,6 Nnitric acid. Sometimes Susa solution was used as a fixative and decalcifying agent. The portions were sectioned by standard paraffin-microtome techniques at 8 pm thick, stained with Ehrlich hematoxylin eosin or acid fuchsin and permanently mounted with Caedax on microscope slides.
