AB The Tenerife Immigration Observatory has conducted a studythat shows that discrimination is a common experience for manymigrants living in Tenerife. The discrimination they experiencevaries based on the continent of origin, with the population ofAfrican origin expressing the highest levels of discrimination. Otherimportant variables that correlate with origin are race, religion, andsocial class. The population that identifies as Arab or black/African,the Muslim population, and lower-class individuals are those whoreport the highest rates of discrimination.
