The improved version is calledSucre4Stem and has been designed from the Internet of Thingsperspective. At a technological level, we differentiate two maintools, SucreCore and SucreCode. SucreCore provides a new,more compact design, encapsulates an advanced microcontroller,and supports wireless connectivity with the ability tocreate online variables and functions. SucreCode, the blockbasedvisual programming tool, has a revamped interfaceand allows wireless communication with SucreCore. At thepedagogical level, Sucre4Stem makes it easier to undertake newgroup dynamics and create novel types of collaborative projectsbetween groups of students. In this article, we also explore howthese collaborative projects can be realised by taking advantageof the different types of communications between SucreCoreand the server-side platform using shared online variables andfunctions.
