AB Due to the great impact that the internet has on people's daily lives, on theone hand, and the digital footprint they generate during their lives, on theother, it is necessary to study the so-called "digital inheritance".In this paper we will try to synthesise the recent Organic Law 3/2018, of 5December, on Personal Data Protection and guarantee of digital rights, thepioneering regulation in our country of this subject in Catalonia, we willdifferentiate the concepts of virtual identity and digital identity and we willapproach the concept of memoria defuncti and its legal protection.We will study what is referred to when talking about inheritance, itscomposition and the digital will. All of this through the study of theconditions that have been established in digital and communication platformsto respond to these questions that concern us more and more.
