AB This end-of-grade project entitled “Legal protection of people with disabilities:special reference to Alzheimer’s patients” first compiles what is meant by disabilityaccording to the World Health Organization and the General Lay 1/2013, 29rd ofNovember. Therefore, how disability is suffered in people affected by Alzheimer, aswell as the different degrees people go throughout the evolution of the disease. In asecond place, we will talk about who can assume this condition of non-professionalcaregivers and the relevant functions to fulfill in order to exercise the rolecorresponding to “caregiver”, as well as the support measures people withdisabilities require in the exercise of their legal capacity, always respecting thedignity of the person and protecting their fundamental rights, thus allowing all thoseactivities in conditions of equality and non-discrimination. To conclude, emphasiswill be placed on the legal capacity of disable people in terms of power and assets,as well as their difficult access to the work world, due to the fact that both disabilityand employment have been a reason of social exclusion in our society, but that iscurrently in progress and supported by the various relevant laws.
