AB Due to the great importance that the lawyer's figure has acquired over time,in part due to its involvement in the correct development of the judicialprocess and the defense of the defendant. I consider it interesting andnecessary to look back to find the origin of this figure, as well as to decipherit's evolution over time.It's essence begins to be discerned in the Ancient Ages, both in Egypt and inGreece, but it is in Rome where the usefulness of the lawyer's figure beginsto be glimpsed, something which becomes evident in the following times.In addition, a legal body was being developed that aimed to teach the actionsof these professionals. Therefore, throughout this TFG we will also discussthe different study plans that they had to carry out, as well as the requirementsthat were established in each era for the development of the profession.It is also of great interest to know the functions, requirements and evolutionof lawyers, as well as the history of the BAR associations, from their humblebeginnings to the present and what are their ultilities.Finally, I have carried out a broad study of the main differences between thefigure of the lawyer in the European system and in the North Americansystem, concluding my work with an analysis focused on what has been theposition of women in the world of law and in the legal profession throughouthistory. here it begins to seem that women start to occupy a egalitarianposition in the legal discipline and specifically in the legal profession.
