A1 Gutiérrez Quintana, Diego A2 Grado en Ingeniería Mecánica K1 Hidrógeno K1 Energías Renovables AB The main purpose of this document is to gather the information necessary tounderstand the energetic picture in Tenerife as well as the current energystorage technologies, to explain why Hydrogen may be one of the maincharacters in the energetic transition plan conceived by the local Government.Hydrogen has several physics characteristics that makes it an appealingalternative for fossil fuels in mobility. Furthermore, although hydrogen is notpresent in its natural condition, it can be produced using electricity to be storedand used afterwards to obtain electricity again. This has attracted the attentionof the whole scientific community since it can be potentially used as energeticvector or even energy storage technology.Finally, a simulation has been executed using the software EnergyPLAN andthe data of energy consumes expected in the island in 2030 with the purpose ofstudying the viability of the target scenario raised by local institutions in order tofight against the climatic emergency.
