AB Most of the inmates/inmates in Spanish penitentiaries are attributable to drugaddicts. However, the disabling treatment they could perform inside prison isentirely voluntary because detoxification programs are seen as medicaltreatments, addiction as a disease and those imputable as persons with fullcapacity to decide on their actions, so for a subject to be part of these programsmust give their consent in relation to the Law of Patient Autonomy. Becauseof this, the majority of addicts in their life in the center do not becomeparticipants in any kind of treatment, thus avoiding reinserting themselveseffectively once their sentence ends and making another sentence accompanythem on their way out; drug addiction and its effects. That is why, I make aproposal before this situation to resolve the inadequacies of our legal system
