So far, most studies delving into the sense of humor atwork are based on the first conception. The present study investigates the relationships betweenthe different styles of sense of humor and organizational variables; job satisfaction and burnoutsyndrome, using an adaptation of the Humor Style Questionnaire, the IBM General survey andthe s10/12 job satisfaction questionnaire. The sample consisted of a group of 120 workers. Theresults showed significant differences between the different styles of sense of humor and thedimensions of burnout syndrome, as well as job satisfaction. This shows that sense of humoris a complex variable, that needs further study of its possible implications in the organizationalfield.
