AB The scientific advances that have taken place in recent years have led to the emergence ofvarious techniques related to the sciences of the beginning of human life, such as gene editing,assisted human reproduction or surrogacy. In the sixties the terms bioethics and biolaw began tobe used to establish an ethical-legal connection between science and human values.Human morality and its fundamental values are usually linked to certain stimuli acquired withthe following of the beliefs of a community of people. So we cannot forget the existence andweight of religions which, through the exercise of religious freedom, enter to profess, express,teach and disseminate moral and religious thoughts that directly affect the behavior of those whodecide to follow these ideals.It is important that the legislator intends to give protection to the exercise of religious freedom,creating mechanisms, such as conscientious objection, to ensure that citizens can act in the faceof advances in biomedicine in line with what their confessions dictate, but always in accordancewith the legally established limits.
