AB This study examines the reforms made in Spanish law over the last decadeto criminal liability. It investigates the regulatory compliance programs andtheir regulation in the Criminal Code. The analysis consists of identifyingthe role of companies and their workers in their compliance with the law.Furthermore, it establishes the requirements of compliance that allowsexemption or mitigation of the criminal responsibility of companies. Itshows in-depth the protocols, policies and procedures that must be carriedout internally by the person in charge of supervision and control(compliance officer). In addition, a brief explanation of its criminalprocedural treatment will be added. Only the most relevant doctrine and therecent jurisprudence issued by the Spanish courts will be used throughoutthe study
