AB The recent development in Artificial Intelligence systems has been of interest to theEuropean Union for years, it is due to this interest that several documents have beenwritten, from reports or detailed guides created for reference for future regulation tonumerous proposals for a regulation, from which it is of special interest the proposal of 21stApril 2021 on account of its goal to create a set of harmonized rules on ArtificialIntelligence.From all the applications of Artificial Intelligence, autonomous driving is of special interestin the field of civil liability as a consequence of the impact it will have on both society andregulations. Because of its imminent distribution, it has been the object of a much biggerregulation in many countries, including some States within the European Union. However,just like Artificial Intelligence in general, the regulation of autonomous vehicles isn’t freeof doctrinal discussion regarding all aspects of civil liability.
