A1 Gómez Garay, Juan María A2 Grado En Derecho K1 Donación K1 Pleito homenaje K1 Compraventa K1 Pesquisas K1 Permuta AB This Final Degree Project will investigate the legal elements present in theseigniorial phase of the Conquest of the Canary Islands. The study focuses on two legaltransactions and some research carried out by order of the Reyes Católicos. From these contracts concluded six centuries ago, a great deal of knowledge can be gleanedabout how the ownership of an archipelago was transferred between nobles, the clauses thatwere established, and especially the difficulties involved in disposing of such distant andinaccessible territories, the Canary Islands in the 15th century. For these nobles, owning theseigniory did not always mean ruling the de facto power of the seigniory, which normally fellto their lieutenants or envoys. On the other hand, the research carried out by Estebán Pérez de Cabitos provides a clearexample of a legal conflict between two parties, the Crown itself and the lords of the CanaryIslands at the time.
