RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Language Acquisition without Grammar Instruction?: The Evidence from an Autonomous Classroom A1 Legenhausen, Lienhard AB The article is concerned with the language practices and the linguisticoutcomes of a foreign language classroom in which young learnersacquire the English language according to the principles of autonomouslanguage learning. The data derive from the LAALE project (LanguageAcquisition in an Autonomous Learning Environment) whoseaim it was to systematically observe the linguistic progress of a Danishmixed ability class over a period of four years. In this classroom thelearners were not exposed to any grammar instruction, but had to workout the syntactic rules of the foreign language themselves. In order tofacilitate the interpretation of the data, they are compared with datafrom traditionally taught learners of the same age.
