Music and theater are fused in a work that combines the sociopoliticalconcerns of the postcolonial discourse through visual metaphorsand musical eclecticism. The multiculturalism of these renownedartists is articulated in an artistic symbiosis that criticizes the culturalpaternalism of the developed countries and the post-colonial politicalheritage. Tania León’s Scourge of Hyacinths is a paradigmatic exampleof how literature and music articulate the great aesthetic and politicalthemes of the fin du siècle. PB Servicio de Publicaciones.
