This is particularly true of thecharacter of Meridian, whose lack of coherence hinders the natural flow ofemotions and action, and therefore, affects the conception of the characteras an individual entity. This may be seen throughout all the elements thatconform the novel, such as the situations in which she moves or herreactions towards social pressure upon women.
