Taking into account that from the 12th century, according to the historian JoyceSalisbury, a process of blurring the boundaries between humans and animals began, andthat this process can be traced among other fields in literature, three levels of analysis areproposed according to the position that the enunciator takes in the texts with respect tothe animal(s) cited. With this research we intend to contribute to studies that reflect on therole that animality plays in delimiting and accounting for humanity and how this respondsto specific historical moments and cultural contexts.
