This work aims analysing existing research ontechniques, tools, approaches and experiences applied to thetransmission and acquisition of new knowledge.Additionally, to analyse the learning process within anorganizational environment, and how a company captures, maintains and transmits the knowledge. We conducted asurvey to identify the software practitioner needs regardingexperience and knowledge transfer. Once we could realizethere is a challenge to manage the knowledge, a systematicmapping of the literature is carried out. We have consideredworks published between 2007 and 2019. 51 articles wereselected, 71% are studies in industry, 29% are focused onuniversity education. Our findings reveal the great challengeinvolved in studying the acquisition and exchange of newknowledge. Additionally, we were supported with an initialsurvey to validate results. Much of the literature focuses onanalysing academic processes, more research is needed on theprocess of learning new knowledge with respect toprogramming languages, tools, methodologies, cycles anddevelopment processes in the software industry.
