Revisión sistemática sobre su eficacia A1 Díaz López, Óscar A2 Grado En Farmacia K1 nalmefeno K1 consumo de alcohol K1 tratamiento farmacológico AB A systematic review has been carried out, using the CASPe critical reading tool, of eight randomized double-blind clinical trials related to the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of nalmefene for reducing alcohol consumption in patients with alcohol dependence. None of the clinical trials analyzed successfully passed all of the critical reading questions, with only three of them failing in a single question. The failure of this question is common to all articles and refers to the inclusion criteria of the trials, which are very restrictive in all cases, leaving out patients with comorbidities common in the target population for this drug, such as psychiatric or hepatic comorbidities. It is evident that nalmefene is effective and safe in reducing alcohol consumption in patients with a highrisk consumption level. However, the need for phase 4 studies that include the evaluation of these same parameters in patients with specific comorbidities is highlighted, as well as the need for new studies on the cost-effectiveness of this treatment and therapies focused on reducing alcohol consumption as a therapeutic goal.
