This freedom isinternationally protected and must be guaranteed to every person, regardless of the natureof their beliefs. However, given the plurality of dogmas and convictions existing in current society, thereligious beliefs that are less professed, called "religious minorities", such as Islam,Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Protestantism, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc., whose presencein European society is undeniable, are susceptible to serious risks that can be caused bothby governments themselves and by individuals. That is why it is up to community law toensure that these minorities have sufficient protection and that their integration isguaranteed by encouraging Member States to create the essential instruments for this. The purpose of this work is to observe the need to protect religious minorities, considering the right to religious freedom that protects them, without failing to analyzethe risks and difficulties that they encounter in their exercise, and at the same time, consider the response of European law in this area.
