T1 El misterio en la estructura de Lord of the Flies

AB The article discusses some of the different approaches ininterpreting Lord ofthe Flies and puts forward a new view based on thestylistic and structural effects of the use of mystery. This factor isanalysed from the various perspectives of vegetation, darkness, silenceand noise, and fear of the unknown. An assessment of the use ofmystery is given in relation to the symbolic message of the novel, thetechnique of the detective story, and the role of the narrator.
