Such contributions have brought up a large quantity of prosodic data that, besides allowing us to better understand each of the different analyzed languages and varieties from a perspective which was practically ignored in traditional studies, also, given us the chance to compare them. The delimitation of an intonational falling pattern in the absolute interrogatives found within Asturian and Canarian Spanish, against the characteristic rising pattern found in Castillian (as well as some other varieties of Spanish) determines, fundamentally, the interest of the prosodic comparison between both languages from the dialectometric point of view, stemming from the acoustic data of various points obtained by the AMPER-Astur and AMPER-Can groups. It is aimed to statistically and therefore, accurately, determine the relationships of prosodic distance and proximity between spoken Asturian (from four points, Tinéu, Uviéu, Mieres and Ribeseya, representative of the four Asturian dialectal zones: western, center-north, center-south and eastern) and spoken Canarian from four islands of the Archipelago: two from the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (La Laguna, in Tenerife and San Sebastián, in La Gomera) and two from the province of Las Palmas (Gran Canaria, in Las Palmas and Arrecife, in Lanzarote). The obtained results confirm a prosodic relationship between the Canary Islands and the oriental zone of Asturias taking into account, fundamentally, the interrogative modality.
