AB This work analyzes, from a legal point of view, the sustainability oftourism activity in the Canary Islands. In addition, the legislativeevolution of the Canarian tourism model to date is developed in order tounderstand the progress it has made and its efforts to produce atransformation in favor of a sustainable tourism sector.On the other hand, the work also tries to examine the legislativeframework at both the national and regional levels to establish the lawsthat affect the tourism sector and its sustainability on the islands.Likewise, a consideration is made of the legal reforms that stand out mostin this area and that have been carried out in order to pursue thesustainability of the tourism sector.Finally, the most relevant contribution of the work consists of establishinga future legislative scenario for tourism sustainability with the aim of thenegative impacts that could appear in the Canary Islands.
