Because of these properties CD havebeen used to enhance drug solubility, stability and bioavailabilíty(2-4). Hydroxypropyl β-cyclodextrin derivatives havebeen extensively used in pharmaceutical formulationowing 10 its high water solubilily (>50 % w/v) and low toxicity(5-6). Bcsides, methylated β-cyclodextrins show an improvementon water solubility of the natural parent and thccomplexation capability improves significantly (7).Polymers are know to interact with CDs and, it havebeen shown that at low concentrations, hydrophilic polymers, such as hydroxypropyl rnethylcellulose (HPMC),carboximethylcellulose sodium salt (CMC Na) or polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP), increase the complexing abilitiesof CDs (8).The purpose of this study was to investígate thc effectof various water-soluble polymers on the cyclodextrincomplexation of bropirirnine. The efficiency of complexatíonwas evaluated by determining the solubilizing effectsof two cyclodextrin derivatives, dimethyl-β - andhydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin YR 1999 FD 1999 LK http://riull.ull.es/xmlui/handle/915/37328 UL http://riull.ull.es/xmlui/handle/915/37328 LA en DS Repositorio institucional de la Universidad de La Laguna RD 23-jun-2024
