These challenges were heightened during the Emergency Remote Learning (ERL) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Audiovisual resources can mitigate these challenges, but their creation requires high digital competences and resources. Internet-based dissemination materials can be useful for this need. This doctoral thesis evaluates the pedagogical value of STEM dissemination resources on YouTube using a mixed-method research design. User perception of a YouTube channel was analyzed (N1=912) and a content strategy was developed for the BSc. in Electrical Engineering, applied during three courses (N2=157). A new line of content was created in the channel, analyzing video metrics (N3=147) and the information obtained from the audience that had visited the channel (N=4,268,071). The results show that the integration of multimedia resources increases motivation and interest in STEM disciplines, improves academic performance and the perception of teaching quality. The opportunity for collaboration between education and dissemination is highlighted, suggesting that content creators align their dissemination materials with educational curricula. Future research will explore the connection between dissemination and education, digital teaching skills, and educational technologies in mathematics teaching.
