AB Overtourism is a relatively recent phenomenon with strong impacts ontourist destinations. When the destinations are island destinations, such as theisland of Lanzarote, these impacts can be crucial not only for tourism activity butalso for the island's economy. For this reason, this work aims to confirm theresults that the Island Council of Lanzarote, the highest governing body of theisland, has published in the report "Study on the Tourist Carrying Capacity inLanzarote''. Based on the analysis of the evolution of variables such as touristarrivals, waste emissions and vehicle fleet over the last 11 years, the resultsobtained lead to the conclusion that there is clear evidence of overtourism inLanzarote.
