The sample comprisesnational, local, regional police officers, and civil guards from various regions in Spain, selectedthrough proportional stratified sampling to ensure representativeness. The study employs a descriptive-correlational design using validated questionnaires togather data on risk perception, coping strategies, and stress levels. Measurement instrumentsinclude the Dimensional Risk Perception Evaluation (EDRP-T), the Coping Strategies Inventory(CSI), the Individual Work Stress Scale by Ivancevich and Matteson, and Karasek's DemandControl Test. Results indicate significant differences in risk perception and coping strategies among thedifferent security forces and between genders. Specifically, women reported higher levels ofstress and a greater use of emotion-focused coping strategies compared to men. Furthermore, thestudy found that perceptions of job demand, and control are significantly related to the use ofcoping strategies, while perceptions of stress and risk do not directly correlate with the othervariables. These findings highlight the need for tailored interventions to improve emotional wellbeing and job performance among State security forces.
