AB Multiculturalism is presented as an objective and not novel fact in our societies.Growing population displacements, among other factors, have precipitated an increasinglynotable coexistence with diversity. This undergraduate thesis aims to examine theconvergence between multiculturalism and religious freedom. It addresses the legal challengearising from these new perspectives of diversity, which require a more flexible andcontextualized approach to law. Thus, religious freedom emerges as a cardinal principle, as itconstitutes one of the precepts that law must observe to provide an adequate response to themulticultural phenomenon. The main analysis will focus on the practical application of law inthe face of religious pluralism. Additionally, fundamental theoretical aspects related to themulticultural interpretation of human rights will be explored. Presenting the challenge ofreconciling the notion of universality with cultural diversity, proposing a reinterpretation ofhuman rights with the aim of making the globalization process fair and inclusive.
