Therefore, the development ofoperation modes that allow the membrane foulingcontrol is fundamental in the implementation of thistechnology. This paper presents a techno-economicanalysis of a process operation mode based on the dy-namic control of the frequency of physical cleaning ofthe membrane, as a function of the fouling achieved. From experimental data obtained in a pilot-scale in-stallation, empirical models were developed to ana-lyze the effect of the operation variables on fouling. The economic analysis allowed to establish the opti-mal operating conditions, which are given to a filtra-tion and backwash flow of 50 and 35 L/h· m 2 , respec-tively, without the need of membrane aeration duringfiltration and ensuring an effective fouling control SN 0001-9704 YR 2019 FD 2019 LK http://riull.ull.es/xmlui/handle/915/39930 UL http://riull.ull.es/xmlui/handle/915/39930 LA es DS Repositorio institucional de la Universidad de La Laguna RD 24-mar-2025
